Le Haut Champ is ideally located for those seeking all different types of activities for their holiday. Walking in the country lanes or rambling through fields, hedgerows and along the river banks, visits to beautiful gardens, lazy days spent on sandy beaches, trips to a variety of museums and galleries with an abundance of history all on our doorstep. Alternatively you could find a local café to relax in with a glass of wine, cider or a cup of coffee.
The local area is a popular destination for fishing holidays, there are a number of lakes that you can visit to enjoy the peace and tranquillity: and maybe catch a fish or two… Golfers are similarly well catered for, with some good courses within 45 minutes to one hours’ drive from the gite. We’ve included a few ideas on the site for walking – but cycling is very popular too. In 2013 the Tour de France visited the neighbouring village, and throughout the year there are regular cycling events which you can watch or maybe even participate in! However should you prefer a more sedate cycle, the Voie Verte is nearby and easy to navigate.
Here are a few suggestions. We have our favourites and we are sure after just one visit you will have too!
