France enjoys a rich tradition and heritage of cultural activity dating back many centuries, which is reflected locally in the Manche, Calvados, Mayenne and Brittany departments and regions.  The area is therefore perfect for a day’s sightseeing or a morning or afternoon excursion. You can also reach the Normandy beaches and sites relating to the D-Day landings in less than 2 hours, with the 70th anniversary of D-Day commemorated this year it is a perfect time to visit.

During the spring and summer there are a number of outdoor music and cultural events celebrated with local produce (and probably much cider or Calvados!) which are a great way to learn more about life in the region.
